Some of the best whale watching in the world takes place off the east coast of Canada, and indeed the coast of New Brunswick is home to the Minke, Finback and Humpback varieties, plus the rare North Atlantic Right Whale as well as sharks, seals, porpoises and a variety of coastal birdlife.
There are several companies operating whale watching excursions in New Brunswick, mostly in the Bay of Fundy area, and here are a few recommendations:
Whales-n-Sails Adventures are based in Grand Manan and offer two daily whale watching trips throughout the summer.
Jolly Breeze offer whale watching cruises on tall ships out of St Andrews by the Sea.
Quoddy Link Marine offer catamaran whale watching tours, also operating out of Saint Andrews.
Fundy Tide Runners take you out on a 25 foot Zodiac, providing an exhilarating ride in the Bay of Fundy as well as whale watching opportunities
